“It’s Spiritual to be Rich” – Kate Northrup

We often divide our financial life from our spiritual practice, especially in times of financial turbulence. In her Speakeasy talk entitled, “It’s Spiritual to Be Rich,” Kate Northrup shares her personal struggle with finances, how she finally paid off her debts, and tips on how to achieve financial freedom and happiness.

“Money is simply about value. It’s about what we value, and how we value ourselves….If you are feeling like you are not receiving enough value in the world, it is probably because you are not giving open heartedly — that you’re not giving as much value as you could in as creative ways as you possibly could be doing.”

“What you want to think about and ask yourself and actually feel when making a purchase or looking through your bank statement is ‘Did I feel expansive when I made that purchase? Or did I feel did I feel contracted?’ That one tool — that one conscious practice, tapping into you as a spiritual being will change your financial life. “

“If you want to attract more financial abundance, you need to draw your attention to what you already have, which is why checking our bank account every morning really makes sense — putting attention on what we already have. Giving gratitude for what we already have is like fertilizer, it just makes it expand, it just makes it grow.”
